Supported Charities

Our Outreach Programme continues to expand, adding new opportunities for SACS boys of all ages to make a difference to the lives of others. The following list features the institutions which we continue to support:

  • The Christian David Moravian Primary School: recipients of our weekly sandwich collection.
  • The PDSA and DARG: proceeds of the FP film show are given to these animal protection agencies.
  • Our annual Senior Citizens’ Tea which draws in members from a number of surrounding Retirement Homes.
  • Red Cross Children’s Hospital (Out Patient Dept): regularly receive decorations and gifts raised in the run up to the Christmas holidays.
  • Maitland Cottage (Newlands): our learners often read to the children at the Recovery Home; toys are also donated at Christmas time.
  • The Stockwell School in Montague: receive Christmas presents donated.
  • The Rural Child Project: recipients of bric-a-brac collected at various times.
  • The Woodside Sanctuary for Disabled Children: recipients of books collected as part of our 67 days of Activism Campaign
  • The community at Mfuleni in Blue Downs: an SRC initiative involving the planting of trees.
  • The SRC-initiated Blanket Drive (2012) raised 500 blankets which were delivered to the impoverished community of Bardale in Blue Downs.
  • The Suurbraak community school: regularly receive stationery, shoes, shorts and shirts collected as part of our “S’ drive.
  • Nazareth House Children’s Home receive toiletry gift packs.

The Outreach Programme has developed into a massive exercise that is sustainable largely through the kindness and generosity shown by the broader SACS community.
