Music
The SACS Junior School music department is a vibrant and dynamic place where students can explore their musical talents and passions. We offer a wide range of instruments for students to learn, from recorder to piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, tuba, euphonium, French horn, and drum kit.
Our students can also join various ensembles that cater to the different levels and styles of music. These include junior band, intermediate band, concert band, and jazz band, jembe and marimba ensembles, and three SACS choirs- age appropriate. Our music department aims to provide a rich and diverse musical education that fosters creativity, excellence and above all enjoyment.
Applicants remain on our database until placed and will roll over annually, i.e. you do not need to reapply each year. All music lessons are incorporated into the academic timetable during the school day. Therefore boys would need to be in a position to catch up on or complete the work done while he is at his music lesson. An applicant’s suitability is also therefore assessed in conjunction with his academic teachers.
Our music staff consists of highly qualified and experienced teachers who are passionate about music and education. They are dedicated to nurturing and inspiring our students to achieve their musical goals and aspirations.
